Google Scholar

Over the last week I’ve recommended Google Scholar to two colleagues looking for authentic articles in contemporary areas of study. It’s a resource I frequently use in my own research area; learning technologies are constantly evolving and many of the articles I reference feature fairy modern discussions which traditional journals find hard to keep pace of.

As my go to resource for articles and publications I find it invaluable, so it’s always nice to point others in the direction of something which is of great use. Many of the emerging subjects being taught within creative education have yet to have any formal articles published in physical form and so having an area you can search which includes digital publications is really helpful. The colleagues I mentioned this resource to last week both work in very new subject areas and they weren’t having much luck finding relevant publications to reference. However after using Google Scholar to search in their chosen fields we did find some useful articles.
